TGIF 8

Well, today I ran into a bunch of folks who’d been laid off locally when the big press (that produces Nat’l Geographic, among other things) downsized. They had all met up for coffee, and were having a terrific time. Having worked their heinies off for 20+ years, they were finally getting the chance to just relax & be friends, rather than co-workers. And they were having a great time. Something is wrong with this picture.

In some ways, I understand that I’m being a slacker and that “real” people have “real” jobs & can’t mess around doing yoga & living on a farm for a few months.  But… what if that’s not true? What if “lifestyle design” (aka slacking) is really where it’s at? Here’s a site that might throw a different light on the issue: http://www.freepursuits.com/  Anyway, I’m looking forward to my next adventures, and meeting up w/folks who are “location independent.”

Here’s some fun stuff:

Sara, as usual, thank you! Specifics – many of the photos are really great, taken by people with real talent of two types – seeing/composing and, in some cases, digitally manipulating after they took the picture. You know me – I don’t need urging to hit the road (writing this in Cannon Beach during the Stormy Weather Art Festival). I don’t do yoga, but am waiting for the sequal, “How to achieve cosmic enlightenment in 30 seconds.” Enjoyed the hints, but — you ladies still wear slips??? There is some really, really good stuff in the day-starters for taking you outside yourself and into new directions. And finally, what IS it with you and shoes?

Yes, it does seem as if shoes are a recurring theme on this blog. Hmmm…

And I really think there should be some kind of shoe-holic support group during Nordstrom’s sales. “Hi, I’m Sara, and I’m a shoe-holic. Like, you know, those cute little booties from L.A.M.B. Or the Dansko red MaryJanes…”

I’m not sure if it’s a good thing or not, but w/the suitcase restrictions, only a couple pr will be coming to the PNW & then Mexico.

Good call on the travel shoes! After all, there are shoes in Mexico, and there’s UPS too…
